The Art of Hiring Talent and Delegating Effectively
3 minutes that might change your life
You must know your value proposition to your employees.
There are three main value propositions: money, growth, and status.
To hire true talent, you always need to lead with one.
If you’re running a private equity firm, you may be able to offer astronomical salaries.
If you’re running a small business, you may only be able to offer an average salary but provide opportunities for growth.
If people didn’t need growth, they would already have the confidence to start their own business.
If they’re interviewing with you, for one reason or another, they need more growth until they can launch their own successful venture.
You—or someone else on your team—can help them excel at sales, public speaking, or any other skill they need to become a better version of themselves.
As you onboard more people with a shared vision—such as a focus on “growth”—it creates a productive environment built on shared values.
This can increase competitiveness, boost business productivity, and ultimately drive revenue.
Increasing productivity through delegation
1 / You show them a demo of the work they need to do.
2/ Have them show you what they documented from your demonstration.
(This is where most people mess up.)
This is how you find their flaws very quickly.
3/ You ask them to duplicate what you just showed them while you watch.
“Nothing fails like success.”
The higher you climb on the mountain, the harder the wind blows.
It’s easier to climb to success than stay there.
